Obituary – Dr Lothar Motitschke
In memory of Professor Dr Lothar Motitschke, who passed away on 24 September 2024, we honor a remarkable individual whose contributions to the field of cosmetic science and the IFSCC have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him.
Professor Motitschke served as IFSCC president in 1987 and later dedicated several years as Scientific Editor of the IFSCC Magazine, where his passion for knowledge shone brightly.
Professor Motitschke was not only a distinguished scientist but also a true ambassador for the cosmetic community. His enthusiasm for cosmetic science was infectious, inspiring countless individuals to explore and engage with this dynamic field. He had a unique ability to connect with people, fostering friendships and collaborations that transcended borders and disciplines. His commitment to networking was evident in every interaction, as he believed in the power of shared knowledge and collective growth.
A mentor to many, Professor Motitschke was always willing to offer guidance and support, particularly to young professionals entering the Federation.
