After 4 years of hiatus, the Society of Cosmetic Scientists of Singapore (SCSS) held its 7th Edition of the The Science Behind Asian Cosmetics Technical Conference and Lab Workshop from 16 -17 March 2023. The 2-day event was held at the Republic Polytechnic, a first collaboration activity for the two.

Its theme of ‘Eco-design Beauty’ focused on creating cosmetic formulations using ingredients, fragrances and packaging materials designed and developed in a sustainable way. Apart from delivering efficacy, safety and sensoriality to consumers, the final products should also be earth-friendly. Guest speakers included experts from Biesterfeld, Cosmetics Design, Givaudan, IFF Home & Personal Care, Omya, Republic Poly, Seppic, Sophim and Takasago. The lab experts from Ashland, IFF Home & Personal Care, Lubrizol and Stepan facilitated the workshops in formulating eco-design beauty products.

In addition there was a special tour to showcase capabilities of Republic Poly plus a first time mini-exhibition featuring products and services from Anton Paar, Dpro Scientific, Gaia Science, IKA and ITS Science & Medical.
