IFSCC Awards Program

This is our oldest education programme and has been highly successful. The ISP brings well-regarded international speakers to IFSCC Member Societies.

We started Ecaterina Merica Cosmetic Education Programme in 2009 in honour of Prof. Ecaterina Merica, a Romanian member scientist dedicated to bringing cosmetic science education to her country, who passed away in 2008.

The Lester Conrad Education Prize is established to assist a Member Society in their Cosmetic Science education programme.

Nominees for IFSCC Fellow may be proposed by either IFSCC Member Societies or by individuals.

The Henry Maso Award is presented at IFSCC Congresses in even-numbered years to the Author of the best paper by a young scientist in an issue of the IFSCC Magazine published in the preceding two years (for the 2026 award specifically, published after the IFSCC 2023 Barcelona Congress but before the IFSCC 2025 Cannes Congress).

First awarded in 1988, this prize is now awarded annually to enable a young cosmetic scientist to attend an IFSCC Congress.

For the 2025 Congress, the IFSCC reinstated the Host Society Award. This is a special award created and presented by the Host Society itself, so the Host Society can decide what they would like the award to recognise. Our 2025 Host, the French Society of Cosmetology, SFC, chose to highlight the work of young researchers during the Congress through the SFC Young Researcher Award.

The IFSCC Johann Wiechers Poster Award is awarded to the author of the best poster presentation at an IFSCC Congress.

The IFSCC Applied Research Award is awarded at an IFSCC Congress to the presenter of the best podium presentation pertaining to applied cosmetic research.

The IFSCC Basic Research Award is awarded at an IFSCC Congress to the presenter of the best podium presentation pertaining to basic cosmetic research.
