Johann Wiechers Poster Award

The IFSCC Johann Wiechers Poster Award is awarded to the author of the best poster presentation at an IFSCC Congress.

The winners receive 4,000 Swiss Francs.

Condition

  • Submit their text in English
    In order to compete for this Award, applicants must submit their full text in English
  • Enter in Johann Wiechers Poster Award
    Indicate on their abstract submission form that they want to enter their work for the category Johann Wiechers Poster Award. Abstracts originally submitted for oral presentations that have been accepted as posters will automatically qualify for poster competition provided they were originally entered to compete for either the Basic or Applied Research Award.
  • Original poster
    Posters must be original.
  • Delegate Registration Required
    At least one of the authors of the poster should be registered as a full paying delegate for the Congress.
  • Poster Display Requirement
    The poster must be on display at the Congress during the required times.
  • Author Attendance Requirement
    During the judging session the poster must be attended by an Author (if more than 1 Author, can be attended by any of the Authors).
  • Judging Interaction Requirement
    The Author attending the poster must be able to answer questions from the Judges.

Obligation of the recipient of the IFSCC Johann Wiechers Poster Award

By accepting the IFSCC Johann Wiechers Poster Award, the recipient agrees to submit his or her poster as a full paper to both the IFSCC Magazine and the journal of his or her local Society for publication in the first issue following in Congress.

Previous Johann Wiechers Award

It ran from 2003 but was replaced by the Johann Wiechers Poster Award in 2023 when all IFSCC annual events became Congresses.

At the 2015 Conference in Zurich the Award went to Aya Sakata, Katsuhiro Abe, Koji Mizukoshi, Takamasa Gomi & Itsuko Okuda (POLA Chemical Industries Inc, Yokohama, Japan and International University of Health and Welfare, Mita Hospital, Tokyo, Japan) for their paper Breakthrough in Improving the Skin Sagging with Focusing on the Subcutaneous Tissue Structure, Retinacula cutis

The 2013 Award went to Mariko Egawa, Motohiro Yanai, Hidenobu Arimoto, Motofumi Hagihara, Kumiko Kikuchi, Yuji Masuda, Koichi Nakamura & Tetsuji Hirao (Shiseido Research Center and the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, Japan) for their paper Visualization of water distribution in facial skin using novel high-sensitivity water imaging systems and application to cosmetics evaluation
