The Basics of Emulsion Technology – Webinar 17 May

Emulsion Technology is the focus of our next session taken from Coschem’s certificate course in cosmetic chemistry. Presenting on Wednesday 17 May will be The Cosmetics Chef, Conny Oberrauter, two times President of Coschem, while as Guest Scientist we have a former IFSCC Webinar presenter and now Coschem President, Jacques Strydom.

For over 20 years Coschem has offered its certificate program, which has become so successful that there is a waiting list. The IFSCC webinars given by Coschem give IFSCC members special access to several modules from the the course.

Conny Oberrauter is an accomplished cosmetic chemist and marketing expert who has been a key player in the cosmetic industry since 1996. With her extensive experience and expertise, she founded two innovative companies, The Cosmetics Chef and Infinity Grip. The Cosmetics Chef is a dynamic platform that provides people with the knowledge and tools to create their own cosmetics, from the comfort of their own homes. Conny’s online classes, webinars and membership programs empower individuals to turn their passion for cosmetics into a viable business. Infinity Grip is a liquid chalk that enhances athletes’ performance by providing a strong, steady, and dry grip. Conny has been president of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists of South Africa (Coschem) twice (2009 and 2015) and has lectured on the Cosmetic Science Diploma Course.

Jacques Strydom completed his degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Stellenbosch in 2013. His final year dissertation as well as further studies were focused on Microbiological Engineering in the field of biofuels, where he studied microalgae conversion to biodiesel as well as starch conversion to bioethanol. His career took a turn when he started working as an R&D Manager in 2016 at an FMCG manufacturing company in Muizenberg, Cape Town. In December 2018, he joined the dynamic AECI Specialty Chemicals team as the Technical Manager for Personal Care and Home Care. He is the current President of Coschem.
