SCCJ Annual Congress to be held at Kobe International Conference Center in November 2026

The Society of Cosmetic Chemists of Japan (SCCJ) will host its Annual Congress from 24‐26 November 2026 at Kobe International Conference Center in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture.
Recognized as one of Japan’s largest academic conferences dedicated to cosmetic science and technology, this year marks the 4th edition of the event. The previous Congress drew 1,386 participants, featured 109 research presentations and 7 keynote lectures, along with presentations on 75 studies that had been showcased at the IFSCC.
Under the theme ‘Bridging Innovation -Shaping the Future of Cosmetics through Integration-’, the 2026 Congress will feature presentations from engineers and researchers representing companies, research institutions and universities involved in cosmetic science. As in the previous year, the program will also include special lectures, including:

Dr. Kazunari Akiyoshi, Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University - How Will AI and Facial Recognition Transform Our Society and Industries?
Dr. Hitoshi Imaoka, NEC Fellow - The Intelligence of “Listening” to Scent – When Incense Wood Meets Cosmetic Science
Mr. Masahiro Yamada, KOGADO Co., Ltd. co-Founder/ Board Chairman
In addition, as part of the international collaboration efforts, the Congress will welcome a distinguished speaker from China, the host country of the 2027 Asian Societies of Cosmetic Scientists.
Dr. Yang Fan, CTO of Mageline Biology Tech Co., Ltd., will deliver a special lecture titled “Overview of Chinese Cosmetics Technology Trends and Recent Updates.”
The lecture will highlight the forefront of cosmetic technology in China, recent industrial innovations, and provide a global perspective on the future of cosmetic science.
Furthermore, as a new initiative introduced for the first time at this Congress, a panel discussion aimed at students will be held. This session is designed to provide young participants with deeper insights into the cosmetics industry and to foster the next generation of talent in the field.
