EMCEP in Bulgaria explores the microbiome

06/10/2019

Dr Amir Szitenberg joined the Bulgarian Association of Cosmetologists at its General Assembly and Seminar on 2 May 2019 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria as part of the IFSCC Ecaterina Merica Cosmetic Education Programme (EMCEP).

Amir gave two very well received lectures: ‘Holobionts: the microbiome in humans, animals and plants’ and ‘The microbiome in skin disorders and the development of a skin organ model for their investigation’.

“It was a great pleasure for our Society to welcome Amir at our meeting,” said Krastanka Marinova, President of the Bulgarian Association of Cosmetologists. “We were very impressed by his competence and professionalism, but also by his modesty and respect for this ‘modern’ but very difficult subject. He presented two very intriguing lectures and there were quite a number of questions at the end. Having Amir with us was highly beneficial and we are making plans for new projects already!”

Amir added: “Thank you for bringing us together. I cannot begin to describe the generous hospitality I received from both Pavel and Krastanka. I found my visit very interesting and professionally invigorating. I fell in love with Bulgaria and hope very much to visit there with my family. Additionally, some collaboration possibilities have came up which I intend to explore further with my colleagues.”
